Small team. Broad surface area.
Joining element means doing many things — reading inbound, talking to founders, writing memos, maintaining systems. If you want a defined role at a fifty-person firm, we’re not it.
We hire for clarity of thought, intellectual honesty, and the ability to disagree well. Pedigree is fine; pedigree alone is not.
Investment Analyst
Read every inbound application, run first-call diligence on the ones we want to dig into, build deal memos, and track the portfolio. Direct exposure to the principal and to founders from day one.
- Reading and triaging inbound applications
- First diligence calls with founders
- Drafting investment memos and pre-mortems
- Maintaining the pipeline and portfolio tracker
- Building decks for partner meetings (we don't have any)
- Running a fund administration stack
- Networking purely for its own sake
Strong written reasoning, willingness to be wrong in writing, and a track record of finishing things. No specific background required — operating, technical, or research are all fine.
Entrepreneur in Residence
Pre-product founder figuring out the next thing. We give you space, capital to get started, and honest feedback. Time-boxed.
- Talking to potential customers, building prototypes
- Co-developing your investment thesis with us
- Sitting in on diligence to sharpen judgment
- Working on someone else's idea full-time
- Closed-ended timelines we set for you
Operating background, technical or commercial. You should know what you don't know, and have the kind of pattern recognition that only comes from having shipped things.
