§ about

A small firm. Operator capital. A long horizon.

§ 01 · principal

element.vc is led by Shivom Sharma. Background in Cognitive Science with an operating role across the family’s commercial real estate and agricultural businesses.

The firm’s perspective is shaped by running these operations directly — by reading P&Ls, hiring crews, and signing leases — rather than by managing other people’s capital.

We invest because we believe the right founders, given honest capital and useful judgment, can build companies that compound for decades. Our role is to be the kind of investor we’d want sitting across the table from us if the roles were reversed.

§ 02 · structure

element.vc is the venture arm of a single-family office. We deploy capital from operating businesses — not from a committed fund with external LPs and a fixed deployment window. In practice, that means four things:

no fund timeline
We don’t deploy on someone else’s schedule.
no markup chase
We don’t optimize for IRR-pumping bridge rounds.
no partnership theater
The principal is the principal. No selling you up an org chart.
no signal games
We’re not signal-shopping against funds in our portfolio.
§ 03 · operating angle

We’ve actually run the businesses you’re selling software to.

Running real estate and agricultural operations at scale teaches you what most pure-finance investors never see: how labor markets clear, what software trades and operators will and won’t adopt, what counts as a real moat in physical businesses, and where regulatory and supply-chain risk hides.
